Heard This Week

Over the last week I came across these items of note:

1) Two clients rescheduled their weekly coaching sessions due to job interviews.

2) Another client expects two job offers by end of week.

3) Recruiter says November placements showed growth. December placements to date are higher than November figures.

4) Business owner says high volume of quotes signaling increased sales in early 2010.

I agree, December seems to be signaling a strong start for 2010! I’ve done more sales copywriting project quotes this month than Oct. and Nov. combined!

I believe that company leaders are preparing for increased marketing and sales activity, taking action to make 2010 a strong year!

I spend a lot of time on Careerbuilder, as well as individual corporate sites, and have begun to see slightly more robust job postings. While salaries/benefits seem to remain tight, career opportunity postings seem to be picking up slightly. Actually, this may be a good time to get in, as a person can prove up and when/if the employment market really turns, be ready to move up.

Thank you for your comments. I am also seeing an increase in the number of postings out there through various groups and contacts. More optimism in business. This will continue as consumer spending increases. Hiring follows spending. One client recently had three job offers to choose from in the same week.
